A New Chapter Begins

We often don’t realize how the events in our lives are launching points to greater outcomes. These outcomes may manifest 10, 20 or 30 years later.

My next chapter began when Cody was 6 years old.

I held his precious little hand in mine as we stepped across the grey concrete floor, through the cold glass doors of the convention center.

Inside, were hundreds of tables lined with a multitude of displays. We gazed across the space at the multicolored bottles of herbal tinctures, purple and blue yoga mats and tiny brown bottles of flower essences.

I could sense an unknown force pulling us forward past all the displays, as if we were walking though an invisible portal into the unknown.

”Where are we going?” Cody wondered, voicing his curiosity.

”I’m not sure,” I said.

We landed at a display of clear glass tables lined with shiny sparkling  clear prism-like objects.

A dark haired man dressed in his business attire, kaki brown pants and dark brown shirt, greeted us with a white gleaming smile.

”They’re quartz crystals,” he explained.

I wondered if he was reading the expressions showing up on my face.

”They’re beautiful,” I said, “Can I touch them?”

”Of course, that’s why they’re here.”

Cody stood at my side looking over the sparkling greenstones, probably wondering what Mom was getting into this time.

”I felt like we were drawn here, past all the other displays,” I explained. “I don’t know why, but somehow just holding this in my hands I feel calmer, more at peace.”

”They were calling you,” the man responded. “You felt their energy.”

Cody and I went home with 3 beautiful quartz crystals and a book that explained their meaning and how to use them.

Later that night I fell asleep, reading a chapter about what it might feel like inside of the precious gemstone. My entire being was filled with a calming sense of peace, as if I was standing in a clear, sparkling prism.

”You’re welcome here,” said a voice.I woke up.
